Huong Pagoda

Give yourself a chance to explore the biggest and most well-known religious complex in Vietnam hiding deeply in the cave and mountains.

 

Literally, the word “hương” means perfume in English and people usually name it Perfume Pagoda in English; hence, both names are correct.Huong Pagoda is just a specific pagoda in that complex and thanks to its religious reputation,  people metaphorically call the whole complex by its name.

Transfer to Huong Pagoda

Around 08:00 ~ 08:30, our tour guide will pick you up at your accommodation and we start our trip to Huong Pagoda, 60 km away from Hanoi.

 

During the travel, you will have a 20-minute break to relax and experience Vietnamese handicraft products such as lacquer wares, paintings, embroideries… It normally takes you 2 hours to get there.

Arrive the destination

You will arrive the destination around 10:00.

 

Then, take your time to prepare your stuffs and prepare for a 40-minute boat ride along the river side to enjoy beautiful landscapes of streams and paddy fields.

Start the journey

Now, it’s time to do the trip by yourself by climbing to the unique pagoda inside the cave (Huong Tich Cave) on the mountain summit (2.5km in height). Reaching the cave, you will have a feeling of entering the holy land of Buddhism.

 

Back in 1400s when Buddhism was the main and religion of Vietnam, the Dynasties and people spent money and effort to build pagodas and temples as beautiful, imposing as possible. Take time to admire the breathtaking views of the mountainous landscape and long-standing Buddhist architectures.

 

Your legs don’t allow you to walk back the bus? Worry no more to use the cable car provided and included in the tour to get back and save energy for the next activities.

Visit Thien Tru Pagoda

After re-energising, we will start another trip to Thien Tru Pagoda, a unique architectural works and charming natural scenery. However, it is not the initial work due to the destroy of the war, yet it was rebuilt and expended after 1954.

 

Then, we will take a boat back to Đục Dock. Let’s enjoy the floating time on the river and admire the scenery of green mountains.
