Let’s do a trip from Da Nang to Hue to admire the iconic scenery from the very high point of Hai Van Pass to see how imposing Vietnamese natural landscapes are.

Not only that, you will also have chance to learn about Vietnam history during the reign of Nguyen Dynasty Emperors and French colonization in Hue - the former capital of Vietnam.

Admire Hai Van Pass

Around 09:00, our tour guide will welcome you at your accommodation and drive to Hue - the Imperial City - to explore the secrets waiting for you. Don’t forget to enjoy the scenery along the roads of Da Nang beach before we stop at Hai Van Pass.

Trust me! This is a not made-up story that Hai Van Pass is the most beautiful coastal in Vietnam, featured in BBC’s Top Gear Show as a must-see when visiting Da Nang. This winding mountain road invites you to experience and take in the striking views of mountain ranges with endless white beaches and blue lagoons underneath.

Explore the imperial tombs

We will then head to Hue and visit its major attractions. Let us take you to the 3 most well-known imperial tombs of Nguyen Dynasty in the past including: Minh Mang tomb, Tu Duc tomb and Khai Dinh tomb.

The special architecture of Minh Mang tomb is that it is placed in an axis that if you follow it to visit his grave you will find yourself going up and down continuously.

Tu Duc tomb is also so-called the tomb of modesty. Tu Duc had reigned for over 35 years since 1848, longest among rulers of the Nguyen Dynasty. There, you will find a unique theatre as Tu Duc Emperor was a big fan of Vietnamese royal opera.

Enjoy Vietnamese lunch

We then freshen up with delicious Vietnamese lunch in a nice restaurant and continue our trip to the majestic tomb of Khai Dinh Emperor.

Among all Imperial tombs of Nguyen kings, this tomb is unique and reflects the dynasty’s difference in mindset, lifestyle and art. There, you will have chance to enjoy the cool atmosphere surrounding the tomb and why don’t you think about the reason why the king chose the area to become the place to rest in peace?

Discover Imperial City

Friends, it’s time to explore the Imperial City, I know you are waiting for it so long. Wait no more to do a walk around to discover the old architectures. We will tell you the interesting lifestyle of Nguyen emperors and secrets of Vietnam’s last royal family.

We will then enjoy the scenic boat ride and cool breeze along Huong River and visit the very special, Thien Mu Pagoda. This remarkable construction started in 1601 on the bank of Perfume River and regarded as the symbol of Hue city. One of its famous displays is the car belonged to Thich Quang Duc monk, who in 1963 drove to Saigon and set himself on fire to protest against the South Vietnamese regime and its cruelty to monks and the followers.

Shopping at Dong Ba Market

Let’s save the photos and memories of the architectures of Imperial City Thien Mu Pagoda to continue our trip exploring Dong Ba Market, the oldest local market in Hue. Why don’t you buy some specialities and souvenirs of Hue for your family and friends? Trust me! It’s not a bad idea at all.
